How do I cancel my policy?
You may cancel your policy during the policy term in one of three ways:
- Send us a written request by email to CustomerCare@GoPetplan.com
- Fax our Customer Care department at 610.595.3351
- Send a letter to Customer Care, Petplan USA, Suite 140, Philadelphia, PA, 19113
The cancellation request must be received a minimum of 30 business days before the next payment date, in order to not have the next scheduled payment taken. If you are on a monthly payment plan and are at your renewal, we must receive your cancellation request immediately after you receive your auto renewal notice, in order to cancel the policy prior to the first payment of the renewal term.

How does cancellation work - will I get a refund?
If you cancel your policy during the initial free-look period you will receive a full refund provide that you have made no claims. If you cancel your policy after the initial free-look period you will receive back a pro-rated amount of your premium according to how much time is left on your policy.
To cancel your policy during the policy term, you must send a written cancellation request either:

To prevent the next payment from being withdrawn we must receive your cancellation request at least ten (10) business days prior to the next payment date..
If you have elected to pay monthly and the policy is about to renew, the cancellation request must be submitted immediately after you receive your automatic renewal notice. This will avoid having the first installment payment of your renewal term taken from your account.

Can I cancel my policy if my pet dies during the policy term?
If your pet dies during the policy term, your policy premium is refunded, based on the amount of premium that is unearned. To cancel your policy you must send a written cancellation request either:

Do I need to provide notice to cancel my policy?
You will have an initial free-look period after you receive your Welcome Pack and Policy Documentation. You can cancel your policy at any time within this free-look period and provided that you have made no claims you will receive a full refund. After the initial free-look period you can still cancel your policy at any time but you will only receive back a pro-rated amount of your premium according to how much time is left on your policy.

Can I transfer this policy to a new owner?
Assignment of your policy will not be valid unless we provide you with written consent. You must submit a written request detailing the new owner's first and last name, address, city, state, zip code and contact number either:

- By email to CustomerCare@GoPetplan.com
- By fax to our Customer Care Department at 610.595.3351.
If you have elected to pay monthly for your policy, you will need to provide documentation of how the new owner wishes to continue paying for the policy. They can choose to either pay the balance of the term in full, or continue the monthly payments from their own credit card or checking account.
As we are unable to accept monthly payments from a person other than the Named Insured as stated on the policy declaration page you will have to document the change of ownership with your signature and then give this document to the new owner and have them fax it at the same time they fax their new payment method.

If I cancel my policy will I be able to reinstate my pet's cover later?
You may cancel your policy at any time. Should you wish to insure your pet with Petplan again at a later date you will have to complete a new application and any condition that occurred during the period that your policy had lapsed will be treated as pre existing under the new policy.

Can I reinstate my policy if Petplan cancels due to non payment?
We may cancel your policy if you fail to pay the premium when due. In such a case you will be provided with notice of our intent to cancel by mail. If you do not respond to this written notice within the allocated time frame your policy will be cancelled. Should you wish to continue insuring your pet with Petplan you will have to complete a new application and any condition that occurred during the period that your policy had lapsed will be treated as pre existing under the new policy.
