Elyse Donnarumma, C.V.T., A.A.S.,
Claims Crusader (AKA Claims Manager)

Elyse’s childhood passion for pets and work at the Humane League of Lancaster County led her to pursue a career ensuring they receive the best care. After earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, she immediately entered the veterinary field. During her time working at an animal hospital – and later at the Colorado Humane Society – Elyse began to truly understand, through firsthand experiences, how pet insurance could help pet parents provide the best possible care to their beloved animals.

After four years in the veterinary field, Elyse joined Petplan pet insurance as a Licensed Claims Adjuster, where she quickly rose to her current position as Claims Manager. As Claims Manager, Elyse works to continually improve and streamline claims fulfillment, helping to ensure that pet parents are reimbursed as quickly as possible.

When she’s not dedicating her time to helping the Petplan family, Elyse can be found at home with her own two- and four-legged family, which includes her husband, Robert, and eight-year-old rescued Beagle mix Eddie, 11-year-old Longhaired Mini Dachshund Laya, three naughty cats and three turtles.

Favorite breed of best friend? Long dogs! (AKA Dachshund)
Best rainy day activity? Reading a book with all of my fuzzy children.
Most unusual claim you’ve seen? A dog from out West was wandering through the desert and got a little too interested in a cactus. He was impaled in the top of the head by a cactus needle, piercing the retro orbital aspect of his eye.
