At Petplan, we talk a lot about the importance of having a good relationship with your veterinarian. Your pet’s doctor is your partner in giving your pet his best life, and his or her advice, insight and recommendations are essential to keeping your furry friend in good health. And when it comes to those times when your pet’s health is in peril, a productive relationship with an exemplary professional is even more crucial.
Last week, guest blogger Dr. Alan Stewart wrote about finding a veterinarian who is passionate about giving your pet the best care and giving you all the information you need to follow up with treatment. His thoughts on excellence within the veterinary profession came at the perfect time, as nominations for Petplan’s 2014 Veterinary Awards opened on Thursday – not to mention, Dr. Stewart happens to be Petplan’s Veterinarian of the Year for 2012!
Petplan’s Veterinary Awards seek to honor veterinary professionals who provide pets with exceptional care and clients with exemplary customer service. Now in its third year (and the second time hosted in the U.S.), the Awards give clients and colleagues the opportunity to say “thank you” for great work done on behalf of our four-legged families. The tradition of rewarding excellence in veterinary medicine is one that has been fostered by Petplan’s sister company, Petplan UK, whose own Vet Awards are Britain’s pre-eminent industry celebration.
Petplan is currently accepting nominations for the following awards:
Veterinarian of the Year
Veterinary Technician of the Year
Veterinary Practice Manager of the Year
Veterinary Practice of the Year (this is a new category)
Anyone can nominate an outstanding vet professional, from pet parents and fellow veterinary staff to friends and family. To top it off, everyone who submits a nomination will be entered into a weekly drawing to win a $100 PetSmart gift card – rewards all around!
Nominees will be evaluated by our esteemed Judging Panel, comprised of leaders of the veterinary community from across the country, and three finalists will be chosen in each category. The finalists will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas to attend the 2014 Petplan Veterinary Awards in person on February 16, 2014, in conjunction with Western Veterinary Conference (WVC). The winners will be announced that evening.
Nominations will only be accepted through November 15, so don't wait to nominate your pet’s best vet.
