Planning to hit the road with Rover? If your destination is Seattle, you’re in luck!
The Emerald City is one of the most dog-friendly cities around. Not only can you dine, shop and ride the city bus with your furry friend (really!), but Seattle is home to some of the most beautiful land and seascapes in the country, which makes it a perfect place for outdoor adventures.
for the thrill-seeker
Our favorite spot is Green Lake Boat and Coffee House. The café carries a variety of healthy grab-and-go snacks, cold and hot beverages as well as fishing and beach supplies, while the Boat Rental offers kayaks, canoes and paddle boards that you can rent by the hour. The best part: dogs are welcome on all boats rented at the shop! What could be more fun than paddling the 259-acre lake with your pup? Green Lake Boat and Coffee House is located at 7351 E Green Lake Drive North, and boat rentals are available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (weather permitting). Contact them at (206) 527-0171 or firstname.lastname@example.org. And don’t forget your doggie life jacket!
for the culinary hound
The Belltown Pub is a hot spot for hounds thanks to its famous “Pup Grub” menu. With healthy plates like Chicken & Sweet Potato, Pacific Salmon, Free Range Venison and Turkey & Chicken (all for $4 or under!), this watering hole is perfect for pooches (and their parents). On your way out, grab a dog treat from local pet health store MudBay next to the bowl of mints on the entrance counter. Just don’t mix up the two! Find The Belltown Pub at 2322 1st Ave.
for the clotheshorse
If your pup is more into couture than the outdoors, a stop at Petapoluza Pet Supply & Grooming is in order. There, you’ll find everything from cute leashes and collars to dog boots, outdoor apparel, seat belts, rain jackets (always important in the Pacific Northwest) and even Seahawks gear fit for Fido. The shop also stocks holistic remedies and has an in-house self-serve grooming tub to help your four-footed friend feel so fresh and so clean. Visit Petapoluza at 114 North 36th Street.
