Petplan offers three simple policy choices; Bronze, Silver or Gold. The annual maximum benefit for these policies is $10,000, $14,000 and $22,000, respectively
.* The maximum benefit renews every policy year, so pet parents can be reimbursed up to $22,000 per year, and there are no lifetime limits.

After choosing the policy type, pet parents then select a reimbursement level of 80%, 90% or 100% and a deductible option of $50, $100 or $200. These flexible policy choices help to ensure there’s a policy for every budget, while still offering worthwhile benefits in the event of an accident or illness.

Petplan policies provide reimbursement for veterinary fees for all accidents, illness and injuries, so long as the condition is not pre‐existing (i.e. showing clinical signs prior to the policy or during the policy waiting period).
Coverage is offered, as standard, for many conditions that some insurers routinely exclude. For example, all Petplan policies provide coverage for:
- Congenital and hereditary conditions – Petplan policies have always offered coverage for diseases like hip dysplasia, IVDD and mitral valve disease.

All forms of cancer – Petplan provides coverage for all forms of cancer and all recognized treatments, including chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy and even groundbreaking therapies like the ONCEPT vaccine for malignant melanoma.
- Alternative and complementary treatments – Petplan is one of the only pet insurance providers to offer coverage for therapies like acupuncture, laser therapy, chiropractic and stem cell therapy, when performed by a licensed veterinarian.

Coverage for dental accidents and illnesses is offered as standard on all policies, so long as the treatment is not for prophylactic care and that the pet did not have existing dental disease prior to the policy or during the policy waiting period.
