“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill
At Petplan, one of our core values is that pets come first. The Petplan Fund is an all-encompassing term for the ways we strive to live up to that value, making a difference by giving back for the health and well-being of vulnerable pets and their families.
Supporting both homeless pets and humane veterinary research into hereditary, congenital and other chronic conditions which affect pets, the Petplan Fund provides a vital resource for organizations and shelters that work to improve the lives of so many of the nation’s pets.
As part of our overall initiative, we make quarterly financial contributions to our select partner shelters, rescues and humane societies across the country. We are proud to be able to help support and promote better health, safety and wellbeing for some of the less fortunate pets across the country.
We're always ready to lend a helping paw to four-legged family members in need, whether that means initiating fundraising efforts for partner organizations
that come to the aid of pets in peril (as we did
for North Shore Animal League after Hurricane Sandy
), or making donations to Morris Animal Foundation's pet health research efforts on behalf of Petplan family member pets who pass.
Our generous contributions, and the subsequent positive impact on overall pet health, would not be possible without the loyal members of our Petplan family. The commitment of our policyholders to the health of their pets is the reason we, as a company, are able to give back so much to help pets.
Petplan team "paws it forward"
We've also launched a company service initiative that encourages Petplan employees to “paw it forward.” Each employee has the opportunity to spend a day volunteering with a cause that is near and dear to them, in exchange for one day of paid time off. Additionally, team members are encouraged to participate in two Petplan-sponsored charity events each year – sometimes alongside their furry friends!
Through our culture of caring, we can bring our philosophy that "pets come first" to life every day, not only within our team, but throughout our local and national communities and the entire Petplan family.
