belly up to this heartwarming, homemade dog treat

Turkey Paw Pie recipe

Warm bellies (and hearts!) with this recipe for a homemade, nutrition-packed treat from Dr. Ernie Ward. Yummy, meaty turkey paw pie is as easy as, well, pie!

Turkey Pie Paw (for dogs and cats!)

Ingredients

3 ½ cups unseasoned white turkey meat, chopped & cooked

1 cup raw broccoli, chopped

½ cup apples, chopped

1 ½ cup quinoa, cooked

1 tbsp. turmeric powder

1 tbsp. kelp powder

Directions

In a blender or food processor, pulse broccoli and apples until desired consistency for your pet. Pour into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Form into six “pie” patties and serve as a special meal or supplement for your pet.

Yields six pies; 220 calories per pie

As always, be sure to consider your pet’s daily caloric intake when giving treats. Talk to your vet about how many calories your pet should be consuming to stay healthy and trim.
